In Praise of the Virtuous Woman
10 A virtuous woman, who can find her?
Because its value far exceeds that of precious stones.
11 The heart of her husband trusts in her,
And it will not lack profits.
12 She gives him well and not badly
Every day of his life.
13 Look for wool and linen,
And with will, he/she works with his/her hands.
14 It is like a merchant ship;
Brings his bread from afar.
15 He rises even at night
And gives food to his family
And rations for their maids.
16 Consider the inheritance and the purchase,
And he plants a vineyard from the fruit of his hands.
17 He girds his loins with strength,
And he/she strains his/her arms.
18 He sees that his business is doing well;
His lamp does not turn off at night.
19 She puts her hand to the spindle,
And her hands to the spindle.
20 He extends his hand to the poor,
And extends his hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her family,
Because all of his family is dressed in double clothes.
22 She makes tapestries;
Her dress is made of fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known at the gates,
When he sits with the elders of the earth.
24 Makes fabrics, and sells,
And gives ribbons to the merchant.
25 Strength and honor are his clothing;
And laughs at what is to come.
26 She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And the law of clemency is in its language.
27 Consider the paths of her house,
And he does not eat bread for free.
28 Her children rise up and call her blessed;
And her husband praises her too:
29 Many women did good;
But you surpass them all.
30 Grace is deceptive, and beauty is vain;
The woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
31 Give her the fruit of her hands,
And praise her at the gates for her deeds.
